Incentivize Excess Rural Energy Generation
Our ability to generate excess electricity and sell it back to the utility will challenge PG&E for due compensation as wholesale providers.
- There is a way to get paid for the excess energy, and we know how to get it.
- We intend to help other farmers use this commercial application for excess power and demonstrate how to use the Third Dimension of their farm.
See PG&E Rule 21 Regarding Purchase of Energy.
Hydrogen Generation From Wind
Vets2Vines' Solano County operation center is a template for using well water and wind power as raw sources for Hydrogen Electrolysis. Hydrogen (H2) will become more important in the next five years, particularly if the State of California holds onto the Executive Order enacted stating that all State vehicles will run on Hydrogen by 2010.
- 3nW Corporation is also a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise, which brings a mandatory 3% participation into each and every State contract.
- This guarantees us a seat at the table should Hydrogen become the fuel of choice.
USDA Energy Generation / Energy Efficiency Improvements Grant Program
The Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (the Farm Bill) established the Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Program under Title IX, Section 9006. This program currently funds grants and loan guarantees to agricultural producers and rural small business for assistance with purchasing renewable energy systems and making energy efficiency improvements.
- We will continually be able to take advantage of the guaranteed loans and grants (up to 25% of cost!) available through the US Department of Agriculture. This means that every project we spend money on can be reimbursed up to 25% of cost.
- New for 2006, the USDA Grant program offers both grants and guaranteed loans for eligible projects. In addition, projects with total eligible costs under $200,000 can apply under a Simplified Application Process designed to streamline the application process for small projects.
